Looking at getting a hotel for the night in London, anybody think or know of somewhere both cheap and easy to get to? As at the moment on my budget it’s looking like London City Travelodge at £47 a night, can anybody do better than that?  Cheers

      Hi Everybody,

It is with a very heavy heart I have to announce that I will not be going to LFCC in July.

As some of you know when I am not blowing up spaceships, adjusting pictures to make model/actresses/actors look more like what the director wanted when he filmed them, I am the part time carer for my dad, who suffers from a number of medical issues namely neuropathy, which is a degenerative condition related to the nervous system, and has slowly been reducing his mobility since having a stroke a few years ago.

Now during my last visit to MCM in May, he had a fall and has sort of increased the rate of degeneration, this has since meant he requires constant care from me and the rest of my family when they can (this is also why I haven’t been chatting much on Skype).

But however much extra help we am now getting from professional carers, I feel to leave him for a weekend in his current condition would not be fair on him or the rest of my family (as the carers only come around twice a day, sort of mornings and late evening) if I were to  come up in London to see you lovable lot, spening the time having fun, smoking the best cigars I can get my hands on and enjoying a decent bottle of Jack Daniels.

So, I thought I would post this now than hope everything will be better by LFCC and find out it isn’t and let people down, something that has happened in the past to other toy soldiers.

However at this time I am looking into booking sort of specialist 24 hour care for him for October’s MCM. So you haven’t got rid of my just yet, but this is going to be an on going thing.

I do ask please do not post anything about this on facebook as my dad is on my facebook, and he would be the first person to tell me to go to london and have fun as your only young once, but as a pointed ear fellow once said “The needs of the many out weight, the needs of the one” :)

      Cheers

Just wondering will somebody be organising hostel stuff as I would imagine that to book early would be best for getting the best price possible?

Yeah, Im planning on getting the bus up, (over night sleeper) leaves truro at like 10pm and gets into London Victoria on the Friday at like 6am. Unless I get a big job between now and then then I would get the sleeper train.

I’m up for this pencil me in :)
Just wondering about the hostel though, there is a St Christophers Inn in Hammersmith just down the road from the Olympia where LFCC is taking place. Just wondering if it would be more logical to go there? I know the London Bridge one is nice but it is on the other side of london lol. Just a thought :)

Yeah I think Iron has a point if we are in doors (yes a good idea if its going to wet) but if we want to be seen and heard outside might be a better idea, also if we indend to do as demonstraighted above somewhere with soft ground incase of gravity related accidents lol

Leicester is good for me, just if people are looking at travel to Leicester it is possible to get to central Leicester from most places in the country for under £20 each way. I have looked it up from Cornwall and its going to cost me £18 each way if I time it right. If anybody else is having difficulty with getting a good price on travel give me a nudge and I will find the cheapest way for you to get there. :D

Hi everybody sounds a great idea, my suggestions with either be a Cornish adventure invation, camping, beach invation, we have a number of places to invate (flambards is are nearest sort of theme park) and in regards of travel quite easy by bus to get here. Also it has great beer :D

Or if people want to me more adventurous and wish to leave the mainland could do the same by to the Isle of Silly? less to do but more beaches and camping?
