I managed to get the day off… now just seeing if I can get down there and back.

Debating whether or not to wear my parade uniform, or do something steampunky. Leaning toward the latter, because my parade uniform is damn heavy and damn hot to be wearing around all day long.

Maybe. Depends on whether I get the job I’m going for or not.

In uniform? (Not that many in SoCal even have uniforms…)

I have now officially changed admin of the 661st over to Dr. Mystery. I have also added Captain SabellaFox and Nurse Kiddo as moderators.

Please introduce yourselves! I’ll go first, since I’m new to Bakersfield and some of you may not know me yet…

For those that don’t know me, I should probably introduce myself: give my credentials, as it were. wink I am The Sky Marshal, originally known as Jonny B. Goode. (Jonny B. is my nickname, everyone calls me that.) I’ve been a Toy Soldier since 2009. Soon after joining up, I became a “lieutenant” to the leader of the 1233rd Fibonacci division, which covers all of Southern California, and when he went AWOL (i.e. became inactive) I took over the 1123rd and ran it for two years. Also during this time I founded FOSSL, the division for Toy Soldiers 35 and older, and ACES, the division for aerospace enthusiasts.

After stepping down as the leader of the Fibonacci division, I entered the Toy Soldiers into the annual Pasadena Doo Dah parade, where we have been marching for 6 straight years now and have become crowd favorites. About this time I was awarded the Yellow Jacket award (probably for Doo Dah). I then restarted the 661st division, which encompassed the Santa Clarita and Antelope Valley areas of northern Los Angeles County, and ran it for a bit over a year, entering the Toy Soldiers for the first time in the Lancaster Christmas Parade this past year. I’m now restarting the 2007th, since I’m now living in Ft. Nelson.

I haven’t posted in here in a while… we do most of our business on Facebook (Antelope Valley Toy Soldiers).

      But this is important.

I am temporarily turning over this division to my co-leader, Dr. Mystery. This may become permanent, as I may be relocating out of the Antelope Valley.

More news as it becomes available.

      Ah, ok.

I’m an admiral now, but still being moved around like a chess piece. Shouldn’t I have a nice cushy desk somewhere by now? kiss

Also can my other characters be added to SteelFleet? Frak wants to join :p

Interesting observation: While visiting my bridge, my Federation captain noticed that other than his all-female command team, everyone else manning stations on the bridge were Andorians.

We name our ships after famous historical figures, yes? This is my current Federation vessel.

Btw how do I send stuff to the fleet, and what do I need to send?

My biggest complaint so far: The Romulan storyline makes no sense at all. Not the main storyline of a breakaway Romulan Republic; I’m talking about the player’s being forced to ally with either the Federation or Klingons. Think about it: You’re basically in a civil war, and on the losing side of it at that, and your side decides to split your forces in half to basically battle each other? It would have made far more sense (and have been far more interesting) if you could choose between Romulan Republic and Tal Shiar. You’re given plenty of “opportunities” early in the game, it’s too bad these weren’t followed through on.

Introducing the recently promoted Commander Gartholemew Swaggar, captain of the USS Back and Forth. (Note the all-female bridge crew…)

Question for the group: Do you prefer PVP, or do you prefer the single player storylines?

I’ll try wandering in the desert a while, see if anything pops up. It’s frustrating that STO won’t own up that this is a bug.

EDIT: That worked; finally got the guy to pop up and give me the next mission.

Ok now I have a real problem. And I messaged STO; they won’t help me.

My Klingon is on Nimbus III at the “Fistful of Gorn” level. I got all the way to the end, where the Tal Shiar base is at that satellite tower. In the middle of a fierce firefight, Law’s face popped up for a moment, then disappeared. Now I have no mission. Nothing. I tried going back to Law, to that Horace guy, can’t find anyone to give me a new mission, but it appears to think I completed the Fistful of Gorn mission. So I’m marooned on Nimbus III until I can figure this out – or start over. Any ideas, anyone?
