So I hear you're in need of a Uniform?

Okay. So. It can be tough hunting down all the various places to buy swanky, spiffy, uniform-related stuff. Therefore, I want to create a sort of archive or directory to make it easy for people to find handy resources.

This is where I need your help.

I can edit my posts to organise them, but I’d like you to submit your online uniform-bits suppliers of choice. I’ll be sifting through the threads in here to start, but if there are new and nifty sites you’ve found that you’d like to share, please do!

      The categories:

      — Standard Uniform Pieces
      — Dress Uniform Pieces
      — Boots, Gloves & Hats
      — Patches, Pins & Adornments
      — Other

So if you share links, try to lump them into one of the above categories.

      Woo! Usefulness!

EDIT: I’d also like to list Soldiers/Nurses/Scouts, family, friends, acquaintances, or helpful individuals who are willing to help with uniform-related services, like alterations or custom-made items. Tell me of these wondrous people! (But make sure you have their permission to be listed as an available resource.) I’d like to get names, along with e-mails, websites, or other contact information if the former are not available.

      Standard Uniform Pieces

Silberman’s Army & Navy Silberman’s Army & Navy – Lots of options for tactical clothing, BDUs, combat boots, etc.

Soldier City – Well-organised catch-all site for uniform supplies. You can specifically filter on black BDUs.

USA Kilts – I wasn’t sure if I should put this under Standard or Dress. I went with Standard, because kilts can be used in a variety of utilitarian circumstances, and often are. This site has kilts galore!

Georgia Outfitters – Black Flight Suits – Relatively inexpensive all-black flight suits. One of the most simple and instantaneous uniform options available!

Tactical Corsets – I think the name really says it all, folks! (Taking advance orders.)

EMP online Nice stuff in the Coats and Jackets section.

Airsoft Club For the tactical wear lovers!

Surplus and outdoors Good selection for both tactical and Dress.

Sports mans guide – A good site expecially for Winter specific uniforms

      Dress Uniform Pieces

Soviet Power – This site sells old U.S.S.R military clothing and accessories. Lots of nice dressy jackets here. For cheap!

Gentleman’s Emporium – A site with a wide variety of really fantastic Victorian era clothing and accessories. A lot of lovely dressy stuff, though with everyday fashions as well.

Museum Replicas – For soldiers with a sense of style that dates back a bit further than the last couple of centuries, this site provides you with lots of options. Very stylish.

Siegels Uniforms-For those Soldiers who like to dress with alittle more style.

      Boots, Gloves & Hats

Discount Knife Warehouse – Great selection of tactical gloves, both full and fingerless. (Easiest way to get at the list is to search on “gloves”.)

GoodGoth Sale Price Shoes – A really amazing collection of ladies’ boots and shoes, at some very good prices. (Limited sizes on the sale items.)

SHOES! – If you like Docs (and not just Steel) then these would be perfect.

AYYA Wear – Very nice leather tabi (NINJA BOOTS!) as well as other types of boots.

911BuyCostume.com (Hats) – Scroll 3/4 down the page to find “Conductor French Police Gendarme Hat Black”

Wild West Mercantile – You can pick up old style derby, bowler, and top hats here.

      Patches, Pins & Adornments

      Patches

ColorPatch – Custom patches, printed. (Not embroidered.) Very quick turnaround! (NOTE: They will not print Dr. Steel or Toy Soldier patches. You can get those in the official Toy Soldier shop.)

Boy Scout Store – Huge collection of scouting merit badges, including a large section of “parody” patches.

DemeritWear – A fun site with scout-style patches that are definitely atypical. For instance: a Milk & Cookies merit badge!

Patch Town – A nice collection of patches, including scout-style numerals and merit badges.

Mama Merit Badges – A small collection of fun merit badges.

      Pins

My Name Badges – They do custom-made engraved or laser-etched metal name badges, in gold or silver colour.

Dragonfire Laser Crafts – Custom laser-etched and engraved nametags. Very customiseable. (Also has a number of other engraveable goods.)

Navy Deals Army – Pins & Badges – Pins, pins, and more pins. Flags, rank insignia, etc etc.

Starland.com : Pips – The link is specifically to Star Trek: TNG style rank pip pins.

Trophy Central : Medals & Pins – Some lapel pins (stars, etc) and award medals.

      Adornments

Parade Store – An excellent source mostly for uniform accessories (lariats, etc), though they have a little bit of everything.

1800NameTape.com – Excellent source for custom dog tags in a variety of colours, and Army-style custom nametapes.

      Other

Sticker Giant – Mostly dealing with custom-made stickers. (Some pre-made patches as well.)

FootGalaxy (Amazon) – Need coloured bootlaces? They’ve got a bajillion shades, in several lengths.

Force Leather & Fallen Angel Fashions Brute – Leather accessories and handmade corsets, among other items.

Geek2Chic Custom Tees – Operated by our very own Col. Canker Canison and Sgt. 2×2! Need a custom tee for your division or event or…anything else? This is your go-to resource. No minimum order.

United States Flag Store – Yet more custom flags & banners!

      Soldier Specifics

      Last but not least

Doctor Steel Zazzle Store – Yes its still up! The Doc

Would be nice with a note next to them where they’re located! Importing stuff is expensive. :)
But that’s an excellent list, I’ll probably post here whenever I stumble across something useful!

As I do tend to go for the tactical look,

      Airsoft Club
Reasonably cheap, shipping can be a bugger, but it’s come down since I last ordered.

      Another good site for both tactical and dress uniform is;

      Surplus and Outdoors

UK based company with a lot of nice stuff.

      So, thar ya go.

Not really sure where to put this, but I think it’d be relevant here. I was searching around trying to find pieces to make my first uniform, when I stumbled upon these. A bit pricey to me, but I think they would be perfect for the aspiring engineer.

Well, I was posting them more for the benefit of everyone else. You see, I enlisted in the nursing division, and I plan to go with more of a plague doctor look. It gives me a good excuse to build a bird beak mask :P If you’re interested I can PM you details, and we can trade ideas.

Since Bow Ties are cool… I found this item…

      http://www.beautiesltd.com/product/science-bow-tie/573

FOR SCIENCE! (Yes, it’s is a navy/yellow repp stripe bow tie. But good Navy is blacker than black… also science.)

    • Another good site for those that want a corset as part of their uniform:

      http://timeless-trends.com/

Also the tactical corsets link doesn’t appear to be work.

This absolutely warmed my heart as that I know Rocky and Kelly pretty well. They are awesome peeps who make all kilts they sell (or their hired minions do).

Thanks for all the info laugh

try adding http://www.militaria4you.com to the list, which recently became my new favourite army dump, they sell everything from field kits to uniforms and crates, tehy specialise in DDR stuff and frequently travel east to get it.

    • If you are looking for quality uniform pieces that are of a lost era, (WW1 and before) check out http://historybunker.com/ I ordered my Peeler frock coat from them. Superb quality.
