Minecraft Anyone?

So I was thinking to myself the other day. I thought about how much time I spend on Minecraft, and how much time I spend on TSU. And then the idea popped up “Hey, why not put both together! What’s more fun then two fun things together!” It’s like painting a picture and listening to music all at once! Double fun power! And I was thinking… why not find a server to play on and get all TSU’d up! So if any of you are interested or have any servers to play on, go ahead and suggest!

I know there used to be some TS minecraft servers.. the main one got shut down due to trolling.
Personally, while I actually own MineCraft, not a huge fan of it.

I love to play Minecraft, and I always find it to be much more fun to play online with other people than solo. I have some experience as an admin, but the server I help to run more or less went down the tubes and has very little activity (if any).
I’m only an admin of it, not the owner. The guy who owns the server and pays for most of it has had his hands full lately with his job and his new baby. I don’t hear from him much.
Since I don’t call the shots on the server, I don’t want to simply just take it over and do what I want with it without clearing it with him first.
There’s not much there, but if anyone would like to look around, I’m sure he wouldn’t object to new members as long as they follow the server’s rules. We’re currently running 1.2.5 vanilla on survival mode (normal) with pvp turned off.
No griefing (including massive destruction of vast areas of the landscape…folks abused TNT in the past)
No stealing or killing other players
No offensive buildings
All users are responsible for all actions that occur under their username
No 1×1 “noob towers”
If you build something, please place a sign of ownership.Razorboi, the server’s owner, has a whitelist system up in place on the server in order to prevent trolling. Anyone who wants access to the server has to sign up on the server forum at http://www.gmzsite.com and post on the forum saying you want in. I’m usually the person that grants whitelist requests since razorboi has been away, and I’m also the one who posts page updates every time there is a new snapshot available, though I don’t usually update the server until official updates come out. My Minecraft name is DivineInsect.

I’ve opened a Server just yesterday for general fun all are welcome to play if they wish. Alice, Kipling and Dutch are already making homes and plans so why not join them.

Hey Mayo, I’d be up for helping with a trading system. I’m in the process right now of collecting materials for a pair of my own lighthouses for my region, and I’d like to help build some infrastructure for trading and travel between people’s homes. (In a non-teleporting manner).

As your next door neighbor I’m all for that. in fact, we did some trading already.
As for infrastructure, I was thinking train tracks, they use ’em on the mainland. If you dig East towards me, I’ll dig north towards what I believe is Alice’s. -
Let me know when you get a trading post set up. I can get lots of red jungle wood for the lighthouses.

Wow, this map looks really neat! For now I’m shacking up in the hostel, and I’m gonna work on the public farm a bit. I added a couple pens for animals. And if yall want to change anything or let me know if I need to do something different that’s cool. I’m still very new to this game.

My server well be getting shutdown till sunday as i’m away to the wickerman festival.
Main reason for this is there an error that keeps freezing the server now and again and i’ll not be able to restart it remotely. -
Noted, I haven’t seen much activity on it lately anyway, hopefull it will pick up again with the next update.

I have a question about the server.
According to Mojang’s blog, Minecraft’s 1.3 update will launch very soon (within the next couple weeks or so). The update will include changes to terrain generation such as cocoa beans, desert pyramids, and jungle temple ruins. New terrain features will only show up in newly-generated chunks on the map. If we keep the current world, the new 1.3 features would not be present in portions of the map that have already been generated/explored, and players will have to travel far in order to discover the new features. However, if we start a new world, everyone’s creations will be lost and we’ll have to start over again.
Here’s my question:
Should we keep the current world, or start fresh for the 1.3 update? -
well veevee i can set up stargates to newer parts of the map that have never load once 1.3 comes out plus will not be changing to 1.3 right a way i need to wait on a stable bukkit build 1st. But is everyone wants a new map i’ll do that.

Yeah, I’m all too familiar with waiting for Bukkit. I used to co-admin another server, and we’d always have to wait around for Bukkit to update before updating the server (plus we’d have to wait for Multiplay to receive the updated Bukkit plugins before the head admin would install them). Any time an update would affect terrain generation I would set up a poll on the server’s forum, and I’d let the folks on my server decide whether or not to reset the map with a new update.

Just a note if you upgrade to 1.3.1 u’ll not be able to get on my server till a stable bukkit build appears which should be within a week.

I would like to know how many people actually are on this server because I have only ever seen maybe 3 other people on at the same time I am on, which albeit is quite a bit and I understand that most people have other things to do in there lives but from the way I see it this server is close to dead.

The server is never been overly busy but neither was the older TSU MC server that jack ran which had only 3/4 active when i was on before it shut.
There is a tekkit also running on the same pc at the moment only a few have access as it wasn’t stable for a bit and i’m expecting it to update its base MC verson from 1.2.5 to 1.3.1 which once its memory use will be assessed and then opened to more of u guys.
I have no plans to shut my server at this time and if i am thinking of shutting i’ll be letting people know ahead of the time.

Get ready for a bug-fixing update soon. Mojang’s blog has news of a 1.3.2 update that will fix some of the more serious bugs present in 1.3.1, and is expected to go live on the 16th. It may be worth looking into once there is a stable Bukkit build for the update patch.
