Is there anything like a Toy Soldiers Oath?

So looking around the site, and The Toy Soldiers Army seems to have everything except a motto or oath. If there isn’t any, anyone wanna help write one or both?

If there is it would be very strange indeed considering the sheer breadth of concepts that TSU covers and the manner which it is all done. It would probably boil down to:

 

I swear, on my honour as a Toy Soldier that I shall:

Respect science

Respect creativity

Be good to others

Have fun

 

In the name of that mundane trinity: by the cup of tea, the comfortable dressing gown and the hob nob biscuit I so swear.

 

NB: Maybe ignore the last line…. probably the vapours again.

I like it, especially the last line. (Also have the maintence bots not fixed that gas leak in B dormatory yet?)

I would tweak it a bit though. Instead of “respect creativity,” “encourage creativity?”

 

Though I was thinking a bit more catchy, like the thing Team rocket always says in pokemon.

I would say as an oath you must wear a button or patch or shirt from the TSU and then do the salute and then sing a TSU anthom? do we have that? anyways just a TSU song. thats what I would say is an oath. but hey what do I know? im just a crazy mad scinetist..XD

I think ominous group chanting is a fine substitute for oaths, but to toss around an idea for one anyway, I’ll point out that we also have the option of being lazy and just refitting a bunch of lines taken from the about page:

Acknowledging the destructive capabilities of armies around the world, the torment and anguish they inevitably cause, I agree that my service to the Army of Toy Soldiers is not to destroy, but to create.

Together with those who have a passion and talent for having fun while doing what they love most, I will use whatever resources at my disposal to help the Army of Toy Soldiers infiltrate and invade their way across the globe.

Our targets? The bored. The dispassionate. The unsure and the confused. Led astray by decades of artificial hopes and marketed dreams.

By admitting immediately that what we say is propaganda, we remind others that nearly every billboard, advert and TV show is an attempt to numb the minds and imagination of the world, while also harvesting personal data from it.

As for the other ones: Putting wild sci-fi elements in our stuff can be fun,  so I like the use of aliens in Dr. Malice’s version, though I’m not sure if using Illuminati as a foe is as cool of a thing anymore or not. Can you believe they didn’t even like pyramids all that much? More into owls for some reason. And they basically just liked Enlightenment Era values so much they made a club about it.

Anyway, I was also about to suggest just straight-up ripping off the Team Rocket motto, but then I look again and realize how clever this suggestion is for me to take a few minutes to notice, so I’ve gotta hand it extra points for that. Kit Allison’s version is good to, but I’d tweak it a little to fit the joke:

I like all of these, but favor the versions from Meticulac.

One small but meaningful edit would be to replace “every man, woman, and child” with “every adult being and child”

— just trying to avoid the gender binary–
