Ingredients

250 grams wheat flour
2 packs vanilla sugar
1 pinch salt
100 grams ground almonds
200 grams margarine
75 grams sugar
few drops vanilla oil

classic:
100 grams icing sugar

fruity:
jam or jelly of your choice

Preparation

All ingredients, including margarine, should have room temperature.

Preheat the oven to 175°C/350°F (upper and lower heat).

Mix all ingredients from flour to vanilla oil and knead well.
Shape them into tiny balls the size of a walnut and spread them on a tray.

For the classic, take a fork and press it onto the cookie balls gently. They should not be thinner than 1cm. Put them in the oven for 8-10 minutes. Still hot, sieve icing sugar over the cookies and let them cool down. You got some heavenly sweet vanilla snowballs.

For the fruity, take a spoon and squish the cookie balls gently. Again, no thinner than 1cm (preferably a little thicker). Use a finger to press small dents into the centre. Place a small amount of jelly or jam in there. Put them in the oven for 8-10 minutes.

It is important that the cookies are not supposed to get brown. They will be rather soft when you take them out, so let them cool down before putting on a plate.
