33rd Occasional DooDah Parade

0 14 years ago

On May 1st, Sky Marshal Jonny B. Goode rallied troops from Divisions 1123, 661, 805, 2007, and the 777 for the invasion of the 33rd Occasional DooDah Parade in Pasedena, California!

At approximately 1130 that morning, a total of 21 Toy Soldiers, Scouts, and Nurses took to the streets to march to the traditional fusillade of marshmallows and tortillas in the “twisted sister” of the famous Rose Parade. Attending Soldiers reported that they were greeted and received warmly by parade staff, eagerly by the local press photographers, and enthusiastically by the thousands of onlookers (who often saluted and joined in on chants of “Dr. Steel! Dr. Steel!”)!

Soldiers marched proudly alongside imaginative delights such as Kinetic Pastry Science Mobile Muffins, The Highland Park Thursday Evening Gentlemen’s Society Circuit Bending Marching Band & Ladies’ Auxiliary, the Pasadena Zombies, and one gigantic robot cat (yes, our robot forces finally have a pet of their very own)! Through it all, our forces distributed several boxes of propaganda and toys among the eager crowds lining the parade route. The masses readily absorbed the message of our Future World Emperor in their desire to share in the fun!

Following the parade, fellow particpants were quoted as saying, “It was an honor to have the Toy Soldiers marching with us this year.” – icing on the successful invasion cupcake for this mission, and motivation to move forward with plans for participating in the parade next year!
