Mission Report From: Sky Marshal Jonathan Baines “Jonny B.” Goode, YJ

In the early morning of Thursday, April 24, a fire broke out in Daisy’s Costumes, a fixture of the Lancaster, CA arts and theatrical community. Many of the surrounding businesses, as well as various other local organizations, ran fundraisers to help the business, run by a kindly old lady and her husband, get back on their feet.

Since you can’t have a Utopian Playland without COSTUMES, the 661st Desert Foxes division decided to pitch in and do our part. On May 17th (Free Comic Book Day), half a dozen Toy Soldiers, accompanied by a few members of our local sister club, the AV Steampunks (which shares about 95% membership crossover) sat at a table in front of a local comic book store to collect money toward the effort. We ended up raising $112 toward the cause!
Also: Daisy’s Costumes reopened in a new location Saturday, June 7th.
